Bath Time

Jackson has gotten too long for the bath sling so we had to upgrade. Jennifer (one of our mentor couples in our Sunday School class) told me about a great duck that Jackson would be able to use now and keep using until he's 24 lbs. The best part is that it was only $9 at Target. What a deal! Jackson really enjoys being able to sit up and play in the tub. (Don't worry, my hands are always right there.)

The Exersaucer

Recently we bought Jackson an exersaucer. The ladies in the nursery at church said that he was really enjoying the one they had so we thought we'd go ahead and try to find one for him at home. He really seems to enjoy the independence it gives him.

"Yo, yo....What's up?" Our little gangsta baby.

This is a little sweeter picture.

He's really starting to interact with the toys around him.

Ummm....Cereal

Jackson turned 4 months old so you know what that means...cereal! We broke out the high chair, bought some baby spoons, and the rest is in the pictures.

Jackson wasn't quite sure what to think of the high chair.
He knew something different was going on but not sure if he would like it.
First bite....Yummy, I think.

The doctor was right, most of it did wind up on his bib and all over his face.

This picture says it all...the thumb DOES taste better than cereal.

Day O' Fun

Michael & I both had the day off so we decided to make today the "Day O' Fun". We were trying to decide what to do and tossed around several ideas but in the end decided on bowling...mainly because the 100+ degree weather ruled out anything outside. Little did I know I am married to a should-be-pro bowler. He beat me bad but that didn't keep me & Jackson from enjoying the day out.

Jackson enjoyed all the lights and noise.

Jackson tried to show daddy how to drive but daddy kept control of the wheel.

Opening Day is Around the Corner

While daddy was shopping for camo, Jackson decided he better find something for himself so the doves don't see him coming. He thinks that if he's cute enough, daddy might let him tag along when he goes hunting with Uncle Marc & Grampa. He doesn't know he has to get past mommy first.

He Found It

Jackson found his thumb (& I actually had my camera there to snap a picture). He loves to snuggle up with his burp cloth and his thumb.

Almost Got It

Jackson works and works on rolling over...

He focuses his eyes on either mommy or daddy, gets his arms in position to push, raises his legs up to help with the momentum and then...

he goes nowhere and becomes completely frusterated. This is as far as he'll get. You can see it in his eyes...he's mad and will not accept defeat. One day soon, we know, one day soon...and hopefully we'll be there with the camera ready.

Nana Jo & Grampa

We have been blessed this week to have Nana Jo & Grampa here with us. They made Dallas a side trip on their way home from their journey to the East Coast. After driving to San Antonio, then to Hilton Head and then back to San Antonio, they decided to continue driving just to come see us. As if that wasn't enough time in the car, they left on Thursday for Lubbock, then finally on Friday for home (Capitan). I'm sure they're pooped by now but we sure enjoyed the time with them.

Nana Jo & Jackson

"Go Spurs" Jackson was proudly displaying his Spurs outfit while his Grampa was here. After all, Grampa's mom & dad are the biggest Spurs fans in the country. The team enthusiasm must be passed down.
