California-Disneyland

Since my conference was over on Saturday, we decided to spend Sunday (Mother's Day) at Disneyland. It was a fast trip through but it was just enough to satisfy Jackson at this age. Hopefully when he and Grayson are both old enough to enjoy it, we can go back and spend a lot more time. We didn't get a lot of pictures....it's too hard to keep up with everyone and take pictures at the same time.

Jackson was trying to tell Pluto about the things he brought for Pluto's friend Mickey.

riding Small World

Grayson loved watching all the characters and listening to the music

Nana & Grayson walked around, shopped, and watched us ride the rides.

I was the only one brave enough to ride the Tea Cups with Jackson.

I was also the only one willing to do Dumbo....Jackson was able to control whether we went up or down. He liked making us go all the way up and then straight down and repeating it the whole ride. It was fun but Michael would've been sick.

Jackson told Buzz Lightyear all about the cool toy Grayson had strapped to his stroller. Jackson didn't know why Buzz didn't talk back to him.

In the Innovations area...not really a ride but that's alright....they asked for volunteers to demonstrate electric instruments. Jackson immediately volunteered and went up to play the drums. He did really good!

California-Rose Bowl & Rodeo Drive

After I got out of class the second day, we decided to take a drive over to Beverly Hills and the famous Rodeo Drive. We'd been looking for "stars" our whole trip and the minute we turned onto Rodeo Drive, I saw one.....Bruno from Dancing with the Stars. He was strutting down Rodeo Drive, smoking a cigarette, carrying a shopping bag.

The Rose Bowl was directly beside the Pasadena Children's Museum so Michael snapped a picture of it. Hopefully we'll get to go back one year for the Tournament of Roses Parade. That's my dream....anyone wanna go?

California-Pasadena Children's Museum

The second day I was in the conference, Michael and his mom took the boys to the Pasadena Children's Museum. They also went to a beautiful botanical garden but all of the pictures from that trip are on Michael's phone. Once I get them off, I'll post them. He got some really good pictures.

California-Hollywood Blvd

After I was done with my conference for the day, we decided to drive from Pasadena to Hollywood. I'd been down Hollywood Blvd once before when I was in High School but Michael wanted to see it first hand. It was worse than I remember....the people were freaky. I held Jackson's hand as tight as I could. We walked down one side of the street, up the other, found refuge in a Disney soda shop, got a snack, and headed back to the car. There were people dressed as characters on the street but they creeped me out.

California-the beach

After the visit to the Aquarium, Michael wanted to take Jackson to the beach. This was Jackson's first time at the beach and he loved it. He keeps asking when we're going back.

California-Aquarium

The first day I was at the conference, Michael & his mom took the boys to the Aquarium at Long Beach. Here are a few pictures. The first one is a classic Grayson...funny face and cracker in hand. He seems to LOVE saltine crackers. Who knew?
