Hunting for Eggs

While at Nana & Papa's house we got to go hunt for Easter eggs. I'm getting pretty good at it. Rather than just picking up one egg and being done (like I did at my Preschool Easter party), I now run and try to get as many as I can. Personally, I like to place them in hiding spots and go back and find them. It's great fun!

(I'm "hiding" and egg in baby Aiden's stroller.)

Houston Zoo

For Spring Break, mommy & I headed down to Houston to break up the week. One day we went to the zoo with Uncle Chris, Aunt Melissa, and cousins Caleb & Madison. We had a lot of fun looking at all the animals.

I'm not much for riding in the stroller so I helped Aunt Melissa push it.

I loved the elephants.

Me, Uncle Chris, and Caleb on the big frog.

Me, Uncle Chris, Caleb & Madison riding a dolphin.

We got to practice driving a boat.

The four of us in a gopher hole. We got to pop up out of a hole just like the gophers do!

Caleb helped keep me from running away by holding my hand. I love Caleb!

Little Boy Meets Grill

Nana Jo and Grampa sent me a fun package today. In it was a summer outfit from Mammaw and this cool apron set. It has two oven mits but I didn't keep them on long enough for this picture. I'm all set to become an expert in the kitchen and on the grill. Bobby Flay had better watch out.

Snow

We didn't post earlier this week that it snowed. Monday night when mommy & I were at church, we walked out to our car COVERED with snow. Well, it's snowing again! Twice in one week....and it's March! Crazy Texas weather.

Today I was sound asleep at preschool when mommy came in and said we had to go home because it was snowing. They didn't want us driving on slick roads so everyone had to go home early. The snow started falling really hard around 3:00 so daddy took me outside to play. Here are some pictures.

Canton

I've heard mommy talk a lot about a place called Canton. I was told I've been there but I was still in mommy's tummy. I don't remember anything about it. Anyway, Nana and Aunt Pat went to Canton today and when they came back to Pa & Gran's house, they let me play with their Canton cart. I think I'm pretty good at pushing it around. They also brought me back a fun toy. If you can push fun carts at Canton and get fun toys there too, it must be a place I'd like. I'll have to convince daddy though because he says that Canton is for girls, not for cool guys like me.

Helpin'

Today the weather was beautiful, we didn't have anywhere we had to be, and we heard that Aunt Pat was cooking gumbo so we headed to Athens for the afternoon. We worked outside in the yard to help Pa & Gran. I was a big helper.
Raking leaves with a rake just my size.

Helping Gran rake up the leaves daddy cut off.

Gran showed me exactly how to do it.

Helpin' Gran pull weeds.

Taking my first taste of dirt. Yumm-O.

Watching daddy trim the bushes.

I helped daddy keep the extension cord straight.

It is hard work helping daddy.

I managed to get a little playing in. I had to test out my new bat & ball.

I loved playing with Pa.

Lots of PoPo cars

Everyone knows how much I like to ride in my police car. Well I got to see a lot of real police cars. Daddy took me to see all the police cars that showed up for the funeral of Dallas Police Officer Victor Lozada. There were police officers from as far away as Baltimore, MD, New Orleans, LA and Orange County, FL. We stood along the street and watched them all pass by. It was amazing!!

Friends

Just so you can see a little into my day....

These are my new "friends". When I wake up from a nap or come home from being out, I go straight for my "friends". I put them in and out of their house and let them explore my house with me. The picture above only shows three of my friends. Mr. Chicken is missing! Occassionally when I'm showing them around the house, one doesn't make it back. It's hard to hold all of my friends at once. Not a day goes by that we don't have to send out a search party for one of my friends. Today, it was for Mr. Chicken.

Found him! He was hiding under the cabinet in the kitchen.

Bed Head

Is this great bed head or what?

Easter Cookies

Today mommy & I made Easter cookies. I helped make the dough and then we rolled it out. I used the cookie cutters to make fun shapes. After I woke up from my nap, I had the best time decorating the cookies with icing and sprinkles. Mommy had to do most of the icing but I helped add special touches. My cookies are one of a kind. What bakery would you find church shaped cookies with little finger smudges in the icing? What bakery would you find an Easter egg cookie with just a dab of pink icing, a dab of purple icing, and a lot of sprinkles?

Ride 'Em Cowboy

We went to LaHacienda for lunch today. I loved talking about the horses and cows all through the restraunt. When we were done eating, I actually got to ride the horse. It was a little crazy at first but then I got used to it. I think I'm a natural cowboy.

Rudolph in February

Yes it's February but why not have a Rudolph nose? Mrs. Kristi had this fun Rudolph nose in her office today and she let me take it home. She even showed me how to make the nose blink. When daddy got home tonight, I had to show off my new toy. Do I make a cute Rudolph or what?

Driving

Mommy was putting my carseat back in the car this evening and I decided to practice my driving skills. I had a great time pretending to drive. As we were getting out, I let mommy know that I'm a safe driver by pointing out the "seatbelt". I know all about the safety features in the car.

Almost a Big Boy Bed

When I got home last week, my bed was a little different. Mommy took the front side of my bed off. Now I can get in and out of bed all by myself. This helps since daddy isn't able to lift me since his surgery. I've been impressing mommy & daddy all week by actually staying in my bed until they come to get me. It's been a pretty easy switch...I've only fallen out of bed once (it didn't hurt though because mommy put pillows next to the bed...she knows I'm a wild sleeper). Hopefully I'm on my way to a real big boy bed soon.

Home Again

I am home! When we got home today, I got right back to what I love doing most...cooking with mommy! We made a pizza. You know how I always try to sneak something in when mommy turns around? Tonight was no different, except I snuck it in my mouth. When mommy wasn't looking, I grabbed the rest of the bell pepper she had chopped up and took a bite just like an apple. It was YUMMY. It must be good for me because mommy let me keep snacking on it while we cooked.

Daddy has a boo-boo

Daddy has a boo-boo (for those of you who don't know....Michael had disc replacement surgery last Thursday). Since he's not feeling good and mommy is having to take care of him, I got to go on vacation to Nana & Papa's house. Thank you Uncle Marc and Aunt Kathy for sending daddy some cookies while I'm gone. If he's anything like me, cookies will make him feel better in no time. Maybe there will still be some cookies for me when I come back home.
