State Fair

Mommy and Daddy took advantage of the great weather and the $4.00 fair tickets and took me to the Texas State Fair today. It was also senior citizen day so there were a lot of Nanas and Papas there too.
There was a big cowboy standing at the front of the fair, his name is "Big Tex". I liked to listen to him talk, he has a loud, deep voice.
Mommy and Daddy wanted to take me on the big ferris wheel, but it wasn't running while we were there. Maybe I can ride it next year.
There was lots of good food at the fair, too much to choose from. We liked the corny dogs. You could even get fried coke. Mommy and Daddy didn't let me try the fried coke.

Official Haircut

Mommy finally gave into daddy's begging & pleading and took me to get a haircut this morning. She thought it would be a quick in and out and we'd be done...little did she know I had different plans. I was NOT going to sit in that chair no matter what was on the video and I was NOT going to let some stranger come at me with sharp & pointy scissors. Was she crazy? The only way we made it through was with mommy holding me as I stood on the chair (for quick escape). When the torture was over (for both of us), mommy let me play with the trains in the store...this is the only picture she was able to snap because of the drama. What do you think? Do I look older and wiser?

Pumpkin Patch

Farmer Jackson

You know I love to drive. Here is my first attempt at driving a tractor.

Can you spot me?

Daddy & I went to the Pumpkin Patch this morning. We met Mr. Jon and Caden and Mr. Bob and Harrison up there. Can you find me in the picture? I wore my pumpkin patch camo so you might not be able to find me. We took lots of pictures so we'll post a slide show for you to see them all.

Pretty Flowers

Aspenfest

While we were in New Mexico, I got to go to my very first parade! Aspenfest is a celebration of the Aspens turning gold in the fall. As a part of the celebration, Ruidoso has a huge parade. It was a lot of fun to watch the parade. I even got to see Smokey Bear and Santa. They were both there!

Crunching Leaves

Mommy, Nana Jo, & I went up to mommy's old school to watch a volleyball game on Saturday. As we walked from the parking lot, I found a LOT of leaves to crunch. I almost had more fun crunching the leaves than I did at the game.

No More Birthday Suit Fun Runs

After my baths at night, I don't like to put on my pjs. I always try to escape and really enjoy running through the house (wherever we might be) in my birthday suit. I didn't see it coming tonight but daddy caught me and wrapped me all up in a towel before I could bolt out of the bathroom. If I can't run in my birthday suit, I'll scoot around all wrapped up like a burrito in my towel...and then eventually give into the pjs.

Enjoying the Cool Weather

It was much cooler in New Mexico than it has been at home. I was constantly saying "sides"...meaning I want to go outside. I loved to play on the deck. Nana Jo & Grampa have a huge deck that overlooks the mountains. I would grab Grampa's golf club and push it all around the deck. It was great fun.

Dusting the Floor...my way!

I decided there is no slippy floor that I can't slide on. Nana Jo thought it was pretty nice of me to dust her floor for her. I thought it was pretty nice of me too.

Driving at DFW

Our gate at the airport was right next to a great play area. Lucky for me, they had a car for me to drive. How do I look? I think I need one of these.

Chasing the Puppy

Hello New Mexico!

We decided to escape the hot weather at home and head to New Mexico for the weekend. We even flew on a little plane! Grampa & Nana Jo were there to meet us at the airport.

Walking with Grampa to get our luggage. Roswell has a REALLY small airport so we didn't have to walk far.
We were starving so we went to eat at Furr's (a family tradition).

Yumm yumm yumm. I love me some Furr's.

Another type of Hat

I posted earlier that I love the word "hat". I found something new today to be my "hat"....my shorts. After mommy changed my diaper, I kept trying to put my shorts on my head as a "hat". With a little help from mommy, I was successful. How fun!

Fun with Caleb

Last weekend I got to hang out with my older cousin Caleb. He is so much fun to hang around. He played with me until we were both just too pooped to play any longer.

New Toys...New Way to Play

Mommy bought me a couple of new toys at a consignment sale. While exploring the new toys, I discovered that you can really see what they're all about when you get down eye level with them. Since I figured this out, I've been going around and looking at all kinds of things this way. It's quite exciting!

Hat

The word of the day is "hat". Everything is a hat. This afternoon mommy was reading and her magazine was my "hat". At dinner, my fork was my "hat" and my potato was my "hat". Mommy didn't let me use my fork or potato as my hat but once. She told me I had bad table manners when I put my utensils and food on my head. Before bed daddy showed me his hat. This was a real hat and I loved wearing it.

Watching Wheel of Fortune with my shades on....why....because I can

Dinner time chat with daddy.

Funny Bathtime Pictures

I love to take a bath. The minute I finish eating, I start telling daddy, "bath". Daddy has to hold me back as he fills up the tub. I've almost made it into the tub, clothes and all, but daddy always seems to catch me. It's just so much fun. Bubbles, balls, duckies...what else could you want? Here are some pictures of my bath tonight.

Ring Around the Collar

The time between my bath and bedtime is the best time ever. I play with everything I can before it's time to head to bed. I run around between the living room and kitchen and get into everything I can. Tonight I found a ring from my baby gym and the only place it should go is around my neck. What fun! I love it!

Walk to D'Feet ALS

Mommy & I are ready to hit the pavement to Walk (or stroll in my case) to D'Feet ALS. (Daddy will have to work but he'll be with us in spirit.) My great-granddad passed away a few months ago from ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's disease). Mommy thought this would be a good way to get out and support a great cause. If you'd like to contribute to our goal, you can click on the link below and go right to our webpage for the walk. You can donate there. You'll even see a picture of me and my great-granddad. The walk is right here in Dallas on Saturday October 13 if any of you want to join us. It's going to be a lot of fun and hopefully raise a lot of money for ALS research.

Messy Boy

I have found a new favorite food...cottage cheese. I love it. It may be messy but it sure is good for me.
