Jackson

That kind of day...

Today we have been stuck at home because we've had people here texturizing and painting our bathrooms and hallway. To make it worse, it was yucky outside all day so we have been stuck inside. Since we've been restricted to certain areas in the house, our living room is currently a wreck. This is a picture symbolizing our day...full of craziness and just trying to keep a 3 year old busy and out of trouble for the most part.

First Hospital Stay

Jackson had another first this past week...his first hospital stay. This is not a first I was hoping he'd have. Early, early Thursday morning, he was coughing and I notice his stomach sucking in when he was breathing. Each time I've talked to the doctor about him being congested, the doctor has said to watch for the stomach sucking in. Seeing this made me decide to take him directly to the ER. We were there for about 4 hours when they decided he wasn't doing as well as they wanted so they were going to admit him to the hospital. He wound up staying until about 3pm on Friday. We go back to the doctor tomorrow to talk about what this episode could have been. I heard asthma mentioned a few times so I'm guessing that's what they'll pin it down to. We're just thankful that we're home from the hospital and Jackson is doing well. A few friends of mine came up to the hospital for the first day and took some pictures for me. They said we'd want to have them for memories and they were right.

Happy 3rd Bithday Jackson!

Jackson is 3! This year he finally got the fact that it was his birthday. He was very excited the night before and when he woke up he was ready to celebrate. He and daddy went to pick up donuts. When they got home, the present from Nana Jo & Grampa was waiting alongside his "You Are Special" plate. He opened the present and then ate his donuts on the special plate. It was a great way to start a day of celebrating.

Party at Bounce U

Jackson's best buddy, Reed, has the exact same birthday as Jackson so we decided to do a joint party at Bounce U. We invited their friends from preschool and church so there were lots of kids. I think all the bounce activities kept the kids very entertained. It was so fun to watch Reed and Jackson interacting with all their other friends. They were like little adults talking and laughing with their buddies.

Dinner at Babe's

After the party, we went over to Babe's for dinner. Here are some pictures of Jackson, Caleb, and Madison running off more energy as we waited for a table.

What is Easter?

Over the past few weeks Jackson has been learning about the real meaning of Easter in preschool and during Sunday school. Today when we were eating our Easter dinner, Michael asked him what he learned about Easter. Jackson replied by talking about the big, big, big rock. Michael asked what was behind the rock and Jackson replied, "angels". Michael then asked, "Why?" Jackson replied, "because Jesus is ALIVE!" It was the best thing. Jackson has been saying it all day, "Jesus is ALIVE!" Makes my heart melt. I pray that he remembers that well beyond this Easter season.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend. On Friday, we stayed home and colored our Easter eggs. Jackson really enjoyed making the eggs different colors. He did really good...only spilling the dye a couple of times.

Since we had to be at church so early this morning, we decided that the Easter Bunny wouldn't visit until after Jackson's nap. When Jackson woke up, there were eggs hidden and his Easter surprises from Nana Jo & Grampa were waiting. The only problem with doing the egg hunt after nap is that he wasn't in his nice looking Easter clothes...he was in nap clothes. I knew it would not be worth the fight to dress him back up just for the pictures. At least Grayson was in his Easter outfit.

This was the best picture we had...it is pretty funny of both the boys.
