playing with Grayson

Last night after the boys were both in their pj's, Jackson decided that Grayson needed some animals to play with. Jackson brought all of his stuffed animals from his room and introduced them to Grayson. After they all talked to each other for a bit, Jackson put them all to bed. This is the picture of everyone going to sleep. I just thought this was a funny picture.

Our last day of vacation

Our last day on vacation, we decided just to take it easy and then celebrate with a dinner cruise that evening. We spent the morning on the beach and then had to head back to Savannah for the dinner cruise. (Apparently Hilton Head shuts down on Sunday and when it rains...Most of the stores and restaurants were closed on Sunday. We tried to schedule a dinner cruise out of Hilton Head and were told that they were cancelled until Tuesday because of weather. On Sunday the weather was beautiful so I'm not sure why they cancelled everything.)

Uncle Bubba

While on our Paula Deen tour in Savannah, we got to eat lunch at Uncle Bubba's. Uncle Bubba happened to be there that day so we got to meet him. He's pretty funny and very friendly. Rumor was that Paula was going to be at his restraunt that afternoon but we couldn't hang around long enough to wait for her.

Hilton Head Part 2

Today the guys were supposed to golf at a Davis Love course here in Hilton Head...unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. Since the weather was rainy, we decided to go on back to Savannah and plan to eat at the Lady & Sons (Paula Deen's restaurant). Here are some pics from the day.

Michael's Surprise Vacation

Michael is turning 30 in a month so I decided to surprise him with a Memorial Day Weekend Trip. We met up with his brother, Marc, and his sister-in-law, Kathy, in Houston. We left all the kids with Nana & Papa and flew out to Hilton Head, SC on Thursday. Here are a few pictures of our trip thus far. (Today we went to Savannah and took the Paula Deen tour.)

Baby Dedication

This morning we had Grayson's baby dedication. It was a special time for Michael and me to commit to raising Grayson according to Scripture with the hopes that one day he'll seek a personal relationship with Christ. It was a blessing to get to make this commitment on Mother's Day. It has been awesome to watch Jackson's understanding of Jesus grow over the years. I can only hope that we can continue to teach both of the boys the importance of our personal relationship with Christ so that they'll desire the same thing one day. What a huge responsibility we have but what an honor to have the privilege to tell our children about Christ.

Swimming Lessons

Jackson just completed his first week of swimming lessons this year. I had him take lessons with Ms. Pat (she used to volunteer for me in the Special Needs Ministry). Jackson went each night this past week for 30 minutes. The first night he cried the whole time. On Tuesday, he only cried for about 5 minutes. By Wednesday, he was eager to get in and by Friday he was a pro. These pictures are from Friday. Unfortunately on Friday his other little swimmer, Alexis, wasn't there so neither was his other teacher, Ms. Laura. We have him scheduled for a couple more weeks of swim lessons with Ms. Laura so by the middle of June, he should be a pro (on a 3 year old level at least).

Jackson

That kind of day...

Today we have been stuck at home because we've had people here texturizing and painting our bathrooms and hallway. To make it worse, it was yucky outside all day so we have been stuck inside. Since we've been restricted to certain areas in the house, our living room is currently a wreck. This is a picture symbolizing our day...full of craziness and just trying to keep a 3 year old busy and out of trouble for the most part.

First Hospital Stay

Jackson had another first this past week...his first hospital stay. This is not a first I was hoping he'd have. Early, early Thursday morning, he was coughing and I notice his stomach sucking in when he was breathing. Each time I've talked to the doctor about him being congested, the doctor has said to watch for the stomach sucking in. Seeing this made me decide to take him directly to the ER. We were there for about 4 hours when they decided he wasn't doing as well as they wanted so they were going to admit him to the hospital. He wound up staying until about 3pm on Friday. We go back to the doctor tomorrow to talk about what this episode could have been. I heard asthma mentioned a few times so I'm guessing that's what they'll pin it down to. We're just thankful that we're home from the hospital and Jackson is doing well. A few friends of mine came up to the hospital for the first day and took some pictures for me. They said we'd want to have them for memories and they were right.
