BIG Milestone

Today was the day of a BIG milestone. Let me tell the story with pictures...

After church, mommy, daddy, and I went to eat at Double Dave's Pizza. It was YUMMY. Daddy was in the Explorer and mommy & I were in the Honda (mommy had to be at church REALLY early so daddy & I slept in and brought another car.)

Here I am trying to stay cool in the backseat of mommy's car.

There's the milestone...mommy's Honda hit 100,000 miles as we drove from church to Double Dave's. How exciting. Actually I should say "my car" turned 100,000 miles since mommy keeps telling me that this is going to be my car one day. I know, you were probably hoping that while we were at Double Dave's, I just got up and ran across the floor and have been walking around ever since. Nope, still not walking but the car did hit 100,000 miles. Whoo hooo!

Boo Boo

This afternoon while I was napping, mommy was cooking. She cut her finger and had a band-aide on it when I woke up. I was facinated with her finger so she taught me how to say "Boo Boo". Well, I decided I needed a boo boo too. When I was taking a bath, I bumped my head on the faucet. I was tough...not a tear or a flinch. Mommy didn't think anything of it until she washed my face and felt a goose egg on my forehead. I have my first real boo boo. Mommy had just read on my friend Caden's blog about his bump on his head (his look like it hurt a lot more than mine...poor Caden) and so she decided to try to put an ice pack on it. I was having none of it but did enjoy holding the ice pack and trying to eat it. Here are some pictures. All is well now...we'll see how I look in the morning.

My Very Own Boz

One of mommy's friends, Ms. Amber, was so sweet and gave me a Boz of my very own. I love him. Thank you Ms. Amber! Now I can have Boz without having to watch the DVD or listen to the CD....mommy and daddy are very thankful too.

I Have a Badge

I have a badge of my very own. A man in New Mexico made it for me. It's not exactly like daddy's...mine is a Deputy US Marshall. Pretty neat huh?

Thank You Nana Jo & Grampa

Thank you for letting me stay with you, flying with me back home, helping mommy & daddy do all kinds of things to the house, going to the Farmer's Market with me, teaching me how to say "skat", playing Boz for me over and over, but most of all...thank you for loving me and taking such good care of me. I love you and can't wait to see you again.

Smokey Bear

Nana Jo & Grampa live where Smokey Bear was found. While I was there, we went to see his museum. I couldn't leave Capitan without getting a Smokey Bear outfit. In the words of Smokey, "Only YOU can prevent forest fires."

Helping Mommy & Nana Jo

Mommy & Nana Jo were working hard on making pillows and curtains. I couldn't let them do all that work without my help. I had to help them straighten out the cording and tape measure. I know they appreciated my assistance.

Vacation!

I am home! While I was super glad to see my mommy & daddy at the airport on Monday, I had a great time in New Mexico with Nana Jo & Grampa. We did all kinds of fun things. I got to go meet all kinds of really nice people (some of them even knew mommy when she was younger). I even got to go see the goats at a real goat show. I'm not sure why the goats didn't answer back to me when I said "Ruff Ruff".

The pictures in the slide show below show a lot of my trip. Nana Jo & Grampa live in the mountains where it is cool so I got to spend a lot of time outside. They have a great deck that I could crawl around on.

So I'm home. I'm saying a lot more words and still working on walking. I've just decided it's a lot easier to just cruise around on my knees and leave the walking to everyone else. (Actually, mommy & daddy have figured me out...I'm just stubborn and will do it my way when I wanna do it.)

Dinner at Spankeys

Before mommy left, she and I met up with Uncle Marc & Aunt Kathy for dinner. We also got to see daddy's old roommate Alan & his family. We ate at one of the best burger places in Lubbock...Spankeys. It is right across from Texas Tech so I started checking out the school to see if I'd like to go there one day. After we ate, mommy drove me through campus and pointed out all the buildings. It looks like I could have a lot of fun there one day.

Cousin Emily

This is my cousin Emily. She's pretty cute. I'm learning how to play sweet with her. It's just so tempting to grab her little toes.

It's My Turn for Vacation

Finally, my time has come. I get to go on VACATION. That's right, I'm spending a whole 13 days with Nana Jo & Grampa. Mommy will be there for the first 4 days then it's just me & my grandparents. I tried to help mommy pack but it was more fun to play with daddy.

Just Eating

These are just a couple of new pictures I thought I'd post. Mommy thought she'd be really smart and put my spaghetti in a bowl that is supposed to be "throw proof". I proved her wrong. I was able to pick the bowl right up. There is no amount of suction that can keep me from doing what I want. I was sweet enough not to throw the bowl...I just threw the spaghetti that was in the bowl.

I'm Back

So I've been out of the blogging world for a couple of weeks. Mommy went to camp so daddy & I went to the lake to play. We fished a whole lot but didn't get any pictures.

While there, Nana discovered the best toy of all...my very own cell phone. It's just like a real cell phone. In fact, mommy tried to answer it at Nana's house when the phone rang. It's great....and cheap.....so we bought out the store (they're at Kroger for all of my friends whose mommies need to get them a phone). If this one gets lost, mommy has a stash of them so I won't miss a beat. After all, I love talking on the phone. Maybe one day I'll actually be able to say PHONE instead of MOAN (that's what I call it right now).

It's a Two Bath Day

Today was a two bath day. This morning I was covered with chalk (& a little dirt) so mommy took me straight to the bath. This evening, we had spaghetti for dinner (need I say more??).

Wanna watch me color?

Coloring

Mommy had some sidewalk chalk so this morning we colored all over daddy's clean patio while he was sleeping. I'm glad we played outside early this morning because it got HOT here today.
Let's color!

"Hey mommy...thanks for putting my name on the patio, now I can't blame it on anyone else."

Maybe daddy will see the I Love You and not get upset.

My Very Own Chair

I finally have my very own chair. It's GREAT. I can climb in and out of it all by myself.
My "daddy" pose.

Sitting up like a big guy.

My pose for the camera.

OK enough...down to play. I'll be back later.

BOZ, the Green Bear Next Door

What a fun afternoon! I got to meet BOZ the Green Bear Next Door. It was so much fun. He came up to mommy's work so mommy brought me & daddy to see him. I danced and clapped and had so much fun watching BOZ. When we left, he even gave me a CD to listen to.

Throwing Balls

My Little Gym

Today I finally got mommy & daddy to blow up my baby gym. Nana Jo & Grampa gave it to me for my birthday and I'm just now getting to play in it...what's up with that? It sure was worth the wait. I LOVE it. I didn't like the machine daddy used to blow it up though. (Every time he turned on the air pump, I freaked out.)

I was having so much fun playing, mommy & daddy let me bring my gym inside so I could continue to play while they cooked dinner. You'll see a video of me playing in it inside.

Fun in the Sun

I woke up from my nap this morning and wanted to go play with my toys. Mommy and Daddy had other plans for me. Mommy covered me in some slimy stuff and put my swimsuit on me. We got in the car and went to a cool water park in Carrollton. It was so much fun, we spent our time playing in the rain forest area just for kids. I liked crawling around in the water and daddy liked making me walk through the water that sprayed me.

Mommy and I just had fun soaking in the shallow area, I love swimming with mommy.
Daddy doesn't like to just sit in the water, we had so much fun running through the water fall. I am still getting used to the water going down my face.

After we went swimming we met mommy who was sun tanning and shared a cherry snow cone. Mommy doesn't like snow cones that much but me and daddy loved it. Daddy says there are lots of flavors, but cherry is his favorite. I think cherry is my favorite too, but I haven't had any other flavors. Mommy said we are going to come back here a lot this summer and hopefully bring some of my friends too!!
