Happy Thursday!

Just a funny picture of Jackson today as he was playing.
Hope it brightens your day and makes you giggle a little.

First Sleepover

Jackson had his first friend sleepover this weekend. His best bud, Reed, is moving next week (I think I'm more sad than Jackson...he hasn't realized what it means) so we decided we needed to do some special things with the two of them. Reed's mommy & daddy were celebrating their 10th anniversary so we offered to have Reed stay the night with us so they could do something to celebrate. We were planning on taking Jackson to the Rough Riders baseball game so we decided to just take Reed along. They did great. They even went right to bed when we got home (it helped that it was 11pm!). Saturday morning we all woke up, had breakfast, and then headed to the park. The park we went to had a splash area, lots of area to run, and a pond with fish to feed. I think we exhausted them again. All in all it was a good time for both of them. While we'll miss Reed, we hope to be able to see them every so often as they're moving where we already have family...very convenient.

Future Rehearsal Dinner Picture

I don't think there is anything that can be said for this picture. It's actually a HUGE praise...he's completely in big boy underwear! We've conquered potty training....with an occasional accident because he just doesn't want to stop to go potty.

Grayson 6 months old

Grayson turned 6 months last week while I was in New Mexico so I'm just now posting his pictures. I could say it's hard to believe that he's already 6 months old but honestly I can't remember what life was like with only one child. We went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago for his check-up.
  • He's measuring a little low on weight but right on track with height and above average with head size. Prior to the doctor's visit, he was boycotting anything but the bottle. Since then he's been eating cereal, sweet potatoes, bananas, and even beets. I think he's gained a little weight.
  • The doctor was also concerned that he's not putting weight on his legs and not pulling up really well with his arms. We've been working him out at home so hopefully he'll get a good report next time. Poor baby just likes to be held so he's not fond of having to do things on his own.
  • Other than that, Grayson is rolling like crazy but only in one direction. He quickly finds himself butted up to the wall or a piece of furniture.
  • He's also really enjoying drooling and blowing bubbles. The pictures above show his bubble blowing skills.
  • Michael is also proud because he's saying "Da Da". He's already quite the talker...I guess he has to keep up with me & Jackson.

Start 'em young...raise 'em right

Adventurous Family

A few weeks ago we had a very adventurous few days....

Michael and I both went to Kids Camp while my parents came into town to watch the boys. While we were at camp, I was able to do one of the new portions of their high ropes course..."The Screamer". It is set up like a swing between two telephone poles. Later in the week Michael was able to do their Zip Line. Michael did the Zip Line late at night so I didn't get any pictures of it.

When we got back from camp, my parents and four other family members went sky diving in Dallas. My uncle sky dives regularly and has always talked about his adventures and how much fun it is. We've always "enjoyed" (tongue in cheek) his stories but never thought anyone else would be crazy enough to do it. Somehow my mom got a crazy hair and then it turned into a family affair. I must admit, driving out to watch them I was incredibly nervous for them but by the time we saw the first group of sky divers land, I was thinking it might be kind of fun. While I didn't take a jump that day, Michael and I are planning on going out there later in the Fall and jumping. Anyone want to join us?

Grayson 5 months old

Grayson is now 5 months old! Our little boy is growing up fast. He's such a fun and laid back little guy (except in the middle of the night when he just likes to cry). He is incredibly spoiled and still loves being held. He'll let you know if you're not paying enough attention to him. He's still not rolling over yet but I'm sure that's coming soon.

While I was not watching....

While I was in the living room the other afternoon, I THOUGHT Jackson was on our bed watching a DVD. Things were a little too quiet so I went into the bedroom to find....

Jackson was covered head to toe in lotion! Needless to say he went immediately to the bath (after I snapped a few pictures) and was one soft little boy afterwards.

Jet Skiing

Michael took Jackson on his first jet ski ride this past weekend. I wasn't sure how Jackson would do but he loved it. He got right on and insisted that daddy go faster. They were out on the lake for a long time. Grayson and I couldn't take the heat so we retreated inside.

4th of July

We were at Michael's parent's house on Lake Conroe over the 4th of July so we decided to participate in the local activities. Michael, Marc, Kathy, and I took the kids down to the golf cart parade on the morning of the 4th. It reminded me of the small town parade we used to go to in Capitan. The kids loved it...not only because they got TONS of candy.

"Christmas in July" golf cart entry. Once this golf cart passed, Jackson started telling everyone, "Happy Father's Day". I guess since they were saying "Merry Christmas" in July, it was only appropriate to hear a "Happy Father's Day".

Swimming

Michael took Jackson swimming while we were visiting his parents at Lake Conroe. Jackson loves the water now and can do pretty good with his little floaty swimsuit on.
