Fun with Family

This weekend we took another trip down to visit Michael's family. Jackson had a great time with his cousins though I think they're ready for him to grow up so he can play with them. We didn't make it into the water this trip but hope to get some boating in next time.

We ate breakfast one morning at Cracker Barrel. Jackson had his own chair at the table complete with silverware and menu.

While the ladies were shopping at Garden Ridge, Michael & Papa found a chair to lounge in.

Jackson's cousin Caleb.

Jackson's great-granddaddy at Kountry Katfish (one of our favorite places to eat in the small town of Montgomery).

Jackson's cousin Madison enjoying the chocolate pie.

Michael reading to Caleb & Madison before bed.

Lunch at Rosa's

Jackson and I had a lunch date at the best Tex-Mex, not quite sit down but not fast food, restaurant ever...Rosa's. There's a Rosa's on every main street in Lubbock but there are only 2 in the metroplex. Luckily my friend Jennifer lives only 5 minutes from one so when we go to visit her, we have to get some Rosa's.

Jackson decided to take a little nap at the end of our lunch.

Dianna & Grace (Grace was completely awake and entertaining us all.)

New Camera

Last night I couldn't take it any longer so Michael & I went out and bought a camera (luckily Michael didn't golf as much as he thought he would one weekend so we had some extra money floating around). As luck would have it, by the time we got home with the new toy, it was Jackson's bedtime so we didn't get to play around with it much last night. With that said...today was all about playing with the new camera. I think Jackson's eyes are tired of seeing the flash. I told him he'd better get used to it because his Nana Jo is coming next week with 1000 pictures available on her memory card and she's not afraid to use them all!

So on with the pictures...

Jackson & I spend our afternoons playing while listening to our favorite talk show host on the radio...Dave Ramsey. Jackson is already learning how to be financially responsible.

So we're still working on the tummy time. He honestly thinks he's crawling by moving his legs and arms but he doesn't realize his belly is keeping him from getting anywhere.

Wouldn't You Know It

Just when I decided that I was going to start a blog and be really diligent about taking pictures and posting them for all to see...my digital camera decided to crash. We can't complain, it was a free camera given to us a couple of years ago but it's just bad timing. I must say I'm not that upset...it means I get to go shopping for a new one. Who can have a new baby and not have a camera? Sure we have a camcorder but the still pictures aren't good quality. So, until I purchase a new camera, you'll just have to enjoy the pictures already posted. I have lots that I need to take for you so for now just imagine Jackson trying to roll over and Jackson starting to suck his thumb (yep, he's found his thumb and LOVES it).

Phi Lamb Mini Reunion

This past weekend we had a Phi Lamb mini reunion at Dianna's house. It was great to see old friends and spend some time just catching up. It was like college all over again, staying up late, eating, and visiting...ok....not quite like college, there were 3 babies, 1 toddler, conversation consisting of pregnancy stories, and we went to bed around midnight only to wake up around 7am because the babies must be fed. Regardless, it was nice to have the time together. After a night of chatting, a quick trip to Sonic, a walk in the morning, and a trip to IKEA, Jackson and I had to say good-bye. Jackson appeared to have a great time at his first sleepover.back row: Jennifer, Laura, Katie, Randa

This is my first shot at a blog so you'll have to bear with me. I wanted to find some avenue to share pictures and stories of Jackson since we don't have the luxury of seeing our family frequently. Hopefully this website will do the trick. It's going to take me some time to remember to take pictures and post them so if I start slow, please forgive me. My hope is to keep this contiually updated so you'll have new stories and pictures on a pretty regular basis. In order to catch you up on some of Jackson's growth, I'm going to add a few pictures that have been taken over the past 3 months. (Yep, he's already 3 months old. Hard to believe!)
