Our First Garden

We have a garden! This morning mommy, daddy, & I planted our very first garden. We have big tomatoes, grape tomatoes, yellow squash, and bell peppers. I am super excited! Here are some pictures of our progress. Daddy had to put our garden in a cage so the friendly bunnies won't eat all of our veggies. We'll make sure and show you our first crop. Hopefully we'll get a crop.

Doin' What Guys Do

While mommy & Nana Jo were shopping at the mall, Grampa taught me how to sit and wait. He said that normally you have to hold all their bags to but mommy & Nana Jo didn't buy anything.

Trains!

After we got back from Chuck E Cheese, mommy & daddy surprised me with my very first train set! I love to play trains when I go to church or to Ethan's house so they thought I'd like to have my own trains at home. I'm SO excited to set them up and get to play trains everyday.

Happy 2nd Birthday to ME!

I hit the big 2 yesterday. I'm officially a toddler! Boy, I'm getting old. My age doubled from this time last year. To celebrate I had my first experience with Chuck E Cheese...or as I like to call it, "the mouse". (If you ask me what I did for my birthday, I'll tell you I played at the mouse.) A few friends came with me and we had a great time. There were all kinds of games for me to play as well as fun games for the grown-ups. Mommy made me an Elmo cake this year so I had tons of fun getting red icing all over me and everything around me. It was a great day...can't wait to go to the mouse again.

4am Wake-Up Call

Picture it.....4am, daddy runs into my room, swoops me out of bed and puts me in the closet with mommy. There are no lights, mommy isn't saying much because she's also half asleep and we sit in there as daddy listens to the wind. About 30 minutes later, daddy gets me out of the closet and takes me back to bed. A bad dream....no, it was real. Another tornado in our area. Two years of life, two times in the closet for a tornado (actually more than that if you count being in Ms. Dianna's closet last week).

Anyway, I thought all was back to normal as I snoozed the rest of the night away in my own bed. Little did I know. Mommy got me up at the usual time but brought me breakfast in my room and quickly changed my clothes so we could head to school. She tried to keep me from remembering that I ALWAYS watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on tv as I eat breakfast in the morning (I remembered I was just too tired to say much). Why didn't I get to watch it this morning?....because we had no electricity.

No electricity, a blown down fence, and a lot of missing roof shingles...that's what we got while we hid out in the closet. Got to love it!

Pizza

Tonight mommy & I made a pizza for dinner. After the pizza was in the oven, I had a lot of fun cleaning the dishes. I didn't scrub them in the sink, I cleaned them off my own way. Mommy said that I come by my love for licking the bowl (& spatula) honestly.

New Cup

You know it's been a pretty uneventful week at our house if there's a post on my blog about getting a new cup. I was pretty excited about it. My first cup with a straw, not a sippy lid. Yesterday daddy let me drink out of his cup with a straw so today mommy thought she'd buy me my own.

I Love Bluegrass

Mommy, daddy, and I did something really fun tonight....we went to a Gospel Bluegrass Festival in a little town called Tom Bean. (Well it was 3 bands so I guess you could call that a festival.) Our friends Mrs. Kristi & Mr. Walter play in a band called "Grass Notes" and they were one of the bands playing in the festival. They were really good. I loved dancing around and clapping. By the end of the night I was exhausted from all the dancing I did. I must say, I think I love Bluegrass music now.

Aquarium Day with Daddy

Daddy and I spend Fridays together while mommy is at work. Today we decided to do something really special and go to the Dallas World Aquarium. It was great! We saw fish, sea horses, alligators, sting rays, sharks, flamingos, penguins, otters, birds, monkeys, and snakes. My favorite was chasing the otter. I loved watching it swim by and then chase it down the glass.
